Certification of child safety seats
- Sep-26, 2022
Common certifications include China's 3C, US FMVSS213, EU ECE R44, EU I-Size certification and Germany's ADAC certification.
Arranged in terms of certification severity, it can be arranged like this: ADAC > I-Size > ECE R44 > 3C/FMVSS213.
(1) ADAC certification in Germany
(2) EU ECE R44/04, I-Size (ECE R129) certification
ECE R44/04: refers to Decree No. 44 issued by the Economic Commission for Europe/ECE in 1982 on the safety protection system of child passengers on motor vehicles. It can be said to be one of the most common and widely popular certification standards in the world.
I-Size (ECE R129) certification: It is equivalent to an upgraded version of ECE R44, and the certification standard is more stringent. The grading standard is based on children's height. The 9 months have been extended to at least 15 months, and the ISOFIX interface is mandatory to be fixed, and the Q series dummies with more advanced sensors and higher bionics are used in the crash test. On the whole, I-Size certification is more stringent, and products that pass I-Size certification are safer, but currently, the price of safety chairs with i-Size certification is generally slightly more expensive.
(3) China 3C certification
For domestic products, CCC certification is a mandatory standard that must be passed by all products listed on the market. If there is no product with this certification, please pass it directly!
(4) American FMVSS 213 certification
This is mainly due to the certification of American brand products. It is said that the standard will be close to ECE R44. American standard safety seats generally use ISOFIX soft link + LATCH link (Latch system).
